Why nitrous acid is less stronger than nitric acid?

Nitric Acid is stronger than Nitrous Acid because it's conjugate base is much stable No3-ion has excess negative charge sepread out over 3 oxygen atoms while the excess negative charge is spread out over on 2 oxygen atoms.
