Why no load power factor of an induction motor is poorer than that of a transformer?

Because, under no load condition IM will draws more magnetizing current i.e. more magnetizing component than working component. When load is connected, Working component will inincrease hence it increases the Power-Factor of motor & under full load IM will provide 90% efficiency…Under no load PF of IM is 0.1 – 0.2 while under full load PF is 0.85 — 0.9…
