Why nominated members take part in impeachment but not in election of president?

In-order to make the process more meaningful

I could understand why this question might have came into your mind this is because the nominated members are being nominated by president only then why they were given this right?

OK so i would explain you this with an example

if someone is close to you and if even he is saying that you are guilty that does mean your chances of being guilty would increase that that would eventually help the second house to investigate the things with more accuracy.

their are no in-depth explanations about it but it is one of the reason for it.
