NON-BIODEGRADABLE SUBSTANCES CANNOT BE DEGRADED EASILY. THEREFORE, BACTERIA AND FUNGI CAN'T DIGEST THEM FOR NUTRITION. SO THEY PERSIST FOR A VERY LONG TIME.
