because when non metal are dipped in wate then they form a base and the base react with the acid as well as non metal are very less reactive in nature

This is because when a substance reacts with an acid,it provides electron to the
H+ ions produced by the acids.But the non metals are acceptor of electrons so the can't donate electrons to the H+ ions of the acids.Hence non metals do not react with acids.
