Metals low in the metal reactivity series do not react with watereven at high temperature. Calcium (Ca) It reacts slowly with coldwater. Magnesium (Mg) It reacts very slowly with hot water. Itreacts with steam when being heated and gives hydrogen gas andmetal oxide.
