Hey Friend,

Erosion occurs by various reasons and is caused by different agents of erosions. In northern India the agent of erosion is mainly water. Stream erosion is common because in north India there are many rivers and streams. If you see, the entire northern plain of India is covered with streams and rivers.

So, the northern India is prone to stream erosion because of the presence of perennial rivers.

Hope it helps!
