NSS DAY. NSS was formally launched on 24th September, 1969, the birth centenary year of the Father of the Nation. 24 September is celebratedevery year as NSS Day with appropriate programmes & activities..

It is so because NSS, was launched in Gandhiji's Centenary year, 1969 which was also the birth Centenary year of Mahatma Gandhi.
