Yes, the nucleus of an atom is heavy and positively charged because the atom contains 2 subatomic particles they are the protons and neutrons. the protons are positively charged and the neutrons don't have any kind of charge that is they are neutrally charged. As because of the protons and the neutrons the atom is heavy and due to the presence of the protons which are positively charged the atom is positively charged.
