wellThe small size of oxygen means that lone pairs of one oxygen are very close to the lone pairs of another, and thus they repel. Since Sulfur is larger in size, the lone pairs are further away and therefore repel less.
The repulsion is what is weakening the bond of O-O compared to S-S. Similarly, the bond of N-N is weakened by repulsion, but not as much as O-O.
