Dear friend,
Years after years the salt from the lake water built up to the same levels. The same process happens in the rivers and then the rivers carry these salts along with it to the sea or ocean. These salts gradually mix with the sea or ocean water and makes the water salty.
These salt water when gets evaporated they again fall as rain in the rivers, oceans and seas and makes the water salty.
