When we heat a substances the kinetic energy of the particles increase so they vibrant even further and because of that inter particle space increases.

becoz by heating any substance an endothermic process occur dt breaks the molecular bonds of the particle nd by overcoming the attractive force they began to move far too due to repulsive force hence inter molecular space increases
