Why only diamond is transparent & colourless whereas other allotropes of carbon are grey or black?

Becoz of its refracting capability due to the relative arrangements of the atoms . Remember in nature diamond is not really transparent it is its cuts smade that make it transparent and shining as a result of total internal raflection.
