Explanation:-

Metal has a tendency to liberate hydrogen gas when they reacts with acids.

Reason :-

Since , metals are more reactive than hydrogen so they displace hydrogen by giving electrons and combine with non - metallic radicals.

But in case of Nitric acid metals do not evolve hydrogen gas because Nitric acid is itself a oxidising agent which reduces itself in to its any oxides and oxidised hydrogen to form water.

But in case of Magnesium and manganese they react with dillute Nitric acid to evolve hydrogen gas.
