why only one by 400 cm cube of solution is put in oleic acid experiment and not one by 20 cm cube of solution?

Only 400cm cube of solution is put in oleic acid experiment and not one by 20cm cube of solution. It is because to dilute oleic acid so that it can form a veery thin film. Also first we take 1/20 cm cube and then again 1/20cm cube to dilute it. Here we dilute oleic acid with alcohol.
