The blood in arteries is under higher pressure than blood in the veins. ...Wall of ventricles is thicker because they need to pump the blood to lungs as well as to the body through the aorta. So they muscle strength to do so hence they are thicker.

oracles have thick walls because contraction in ventricles opens up the semilunar valves which leads to transport of blood in the entire body.. so the strength of ventricular contraction should be high since the blood has to reach great distances and thick walls assist this .
