Halophytes are plants that live in marshy areas. They have to absorb water from such a soil which has higher salt concentration and therefore lower water potential (higher osmotic pressure). To cope up with this situation they activate salts in their roots. As a consequence, the cells of the roots develop lower water potential (higher osmotic pressure) which brings in water by osmosis.
Hydrophytes live in water so they have less concentration of salts in them means less osmotic pressure.
