◆ our body is made up of complex organ systems which require food molecules to be broken down.
◆ these food molecules once broken down they can be easily absorbed by the cells.
◆ plants cells require CO2, H2O and minerals along with sunlight to make food but we are heterotrophs i.e we can't prepare our own food.
◆ our cells require Oxygen and not CO2 for survival and proper functioning.
◆ moreover, we require hormones and enzymes to take part in all processes.

Our body cannot make food from the carbon dioxide, water and minerals like plants do because our body has no chlorophyll which can capture the solar energy. This solar energy is used to synthesis food from H2Oand CO2
