I think your question is bit wrong as our ears don't contain any bones, it contain's only muscles. On the other hand you had asked "why bones are hard?"
So, bones are hard because they are made of protein called collagen with a mineral called calcium phosphate.
Although they are very light and strong enough to support our entire weight.
