why our eyeball blinks every second.

hey blink every few seconds to keep your eyes moist and healthy. If the air is very dry, as it is in wintertime when it is very cold, they blink more frequently. On a warm summer day during a rain storm they blink less frequently. Professional baseball players are taught to blink just as the pitcher begins his wind up to throw. This helps because you see better when your eye is moist.

They blink by reflex when anything comes near your eyes. This is to protect your eyes from scratches and dirt.

They also blink when a bright light strikes them, for example when the sun pops out from behind a tree or a cloud.
