Humans have extra capillary beds in the hands and feet that have the specific role of heat regulation.

We have unconscious ways of opening and closing these capillary beds when we get hot or cold.

In this was you can think of your hands and feet as being like radiators. Our fingers and toes create more surface area for the heat to radiate out from, so the extra capillary beds have formed there.

When we get hot, the capillary beds open up and let more blood flow through our hands and feet. The extra blood radiates its heat and helps us to cool down.

Then when we get cold, the capillary beds close and our feet & hands feel cold, because there is less blood flowing through them.

So you can't "fix" this, because this system IS the fix! It is fixing the problem of temperature regulation.

Now, if there are very strong irregularities in the pattern of your hot and cold feeling hands and feet, then you may have a thyroid or pituatary condition and you should see a doctor for tests. But this is rare, so don't just assume this if you are not really strongly overheating or overcooling.
