Why out of two amino groups in semicarbazide only one is involved in formation of semicarbazone?

Answer:

REASON- This is due to the fact that the unshared pair of electrons on N-atom adjacent to the C=O group becomes involved in resonance interaction with these groups and hence, are less available for bond formation. hence, only one -NH2 in semicarbazide involved in the formation of semicarbazone
