Forest-based raw materials was once a source of livelihood. However natural resources are limited.
If everything is used up by the current generation then the coming generation will have nothing to survive on.
Hence slowly the world has switched to farm-based raw materials.
Availability of raw materials is easier, efficient and cost-effective and beneficial for the society in the long run if produced by firms.
