  • Oxygen and Carbon dioxide are known as the respiratory gases because their role in biological world can't be ignored. Moreover, they are included in the respiratory processes.

  •  Our body required oxygen to break down the food so that energy could be liberated. This liberated energy in the form of ATP molecule works as the the money in our body.

  • Further, carbon dioxide is evolved during the process of formation of energy. This evolved carbon dioxide is toxic to the body if it accumulates in greater concentration. The body has prefixed pathways for the elimination of carbon dioxide and path to transport oxygen.

  • Because of the involvement of carbon dioxide and oxygen in the respiratory process they are known as respiratory gases.
