why oxygen gas does not affect moist blue litmus paper, but carbon dioxide turns it slightly pink?​

oxygen dissolves in water on the litmus paper and act as oxygen so, there is no effect.but CO2 dissolves in water on the litmus paper and act as carbonic acid , This lowers the pH and turns the paper pink.
