Why oxygen has less ionization energy than nitrogen

Hi dear....

Oxygen has the atomic number 8 whereas the nitrogen has the atomic number 7 .

we know that as the Atomic Radius increases then the ionization power decreases ..

More the atomic number less the potential ionization energy..

HEY MATE HERE IS YOUR ANSWER oxygen has low ionisation energy than nitrogen because more energy is required to add two electrons to oxygen to make it stable.
