1.In October 1999, he led a military coup in which he overthrew a democratically elected government and declared himself the Chief Executive of the country.
2. Later in 2002, he changed his designation to President and held a referendum(sudden over through of government forcibly by the military) in the country that granted him a five year extension
3. In August 2002, he issued a Legal Framework Order. According to this order , the president can dismiss the national or provincial assemblies.
4. After this law, Pakistan has had elections and elected representatives have some power but the final power rests with the military officers and General Musharraf himself.
5. People may have elected their representatives but those elected representatives are not really rulers.
In this way, Pakistan is not a Democratic country.
