Why pancreases is called heterocrine gland? Explain?

Heterocrine glands are those glands which have both exocrine and endocrine part. Pancreas is called heterocrine gland because it secretes the hormone insulin into blood which is an endocrine function and enzymes into digestive tract which is an exocrine function.

The pancreatic duct carries the digestive enzymes produced by endocrine cells to the duodenum. The pancreas is classified as a heterocrine gland because it contains both endocrine and exocrine glandular tissue
