Why paramaecium aurelia has two micronuclei?

This is so because by the help of two micro nuclei paramecia aurelia can keep off genetic intruders and certain pieces of DNA that embed themselves into the genome. Also, if a piece of DNA is present in the micronucleus but if absent in the macronucleus, it will be removed from the next macronucleus that is made.
