Why parenchyma cell is a type of permanent tissue? Parenchyma cell possess the power of division then why we called it as permanent tissue. please explain me I will definitely mark it as the brainlist answer.
SatishMallick016:
I have searched it on Google . it sometime shows that parenchyma cell can divide and sometimes shows that parenchyma cells cannot divide. What is correct please answer me¿¿¿??? I am totally confused!!¡!¡!¡

hey mate
parenchyma a type of permanant tissue . it consists of relatively unspecialised cells with thin cell walls . they are live cells . they are loosely packed, so that large spaces between cells are found in this tissue. the tissue provides support to plants and stores food .
in some times it contains chlorophyll and performs photosynthesis and then it is called chlorenchyma . in aquatic plants large air cavities are present in parenchyma to give buoyancy to the plants to help them float . such parenchyma type is called arenchyma

Explanation:
Yes , parenchyama is surely a permanent tissue , differentiated and do not posses further dividing capacity.
But at some places , it undergoes process of dedifferentiation by which it is no more differentiated and can divide again . Some of these locations are cork cambium , interfascicular cambium .
Otherwise as you think , parenchyma cells being permanent should not divide . But following dedifferentiation , they are found to divide.
You can read more about de differentiation if u want to study in detail or ask your teacher about it.
