why parthenogenesis is common in ants?

Because of the ants living in colonies, parthenogenesis is common. Each ant contributes to this issue.

The males come from unfertilized eggs. Fertilized eggs are female. It's relatively easy in this system to drop the male and just have females. These species have the reproductive advantages of parthenogenesis, but not the flexibility advantages of mating
