Why patients are given glucose six phosphate instead of glucose?

Because it break down good and give energy so they use glucose

Glucose is used in oral and intravenous formulations to produce instant energy in the form of ATP.

It easily enters the cells and is readily phosphorylated inside the cells.

Phosphorylated glucose (glucose-6-phosphate) can not easily cross the cell membrane.

Therefore, plain glucose or dextrose (D-glucose) is used instead of any other form of glucose.
