people living at higher altitudes have a very less amount of oxygen content for respiration....so as a result of this....the relative no. of RBCs increases......

The people living in the high altitude have more RBCs in their body. It helps them to adapt at high altitude as there is less availability of oxygen. More RBCs in the body support to collect enough amount of oxygen for the body. So they have red cheeks. But the people living in low altitude have enough oxygen so they need less rbc to collect oxygen
