Why Percolation rate is lower in Clayey Soil compared to that of Sandy Soil?​

Clay soils have very fine particles through which water cannot be easily percolate but in the case of sandy soil, this soil have granules like big particles through which water can be easily filtrated or percolated. That is why, low percolation rate in clay soil when compared to sandy soil.
