Hey dear

Periods are only in girls not in boys.

Reason :-

Bcoz egg formation takes place in girls only but in boys sperms are produced.
As every month, egg is produced. And the uterus becomes thick so as to nurture the embryo. But when the fertilization doesnt occurs, then the lining of uterus starts breaking and blood comes out through the female body as the uterus is comnected through blood vessels.
And this coming out of blood is called periods and menstruation.

because of the mechanism of girls... everything has a system....girls are said to have periods because every month there is ovum formed in girls and it comes all the way to the uterus...the Uterus becomes thick to receive it(it develops blood capillaries)...if the ovum is not fertilised, it will get washed away by the females immune system and the blood capillaries will shed down causing periods....if the egg is fertilised, it will start developing into a baby...get pregnant and you won't have periods
