Sun is inexhaustible because the sun will continue to radiate energy for the next five billion years or so. You will run out of space to put solar panels before the sun runs out of fuel to sustain its fusion reactions.

Natural resources such as coal petroleum (crude oil) and natural gas and petroleum gas and petrol take thousands of years to form naturally and cannot be replaced as fast as they are being consumed.

Thus petrol is exhaustible natural resource, whereas sunlight is not.
