Why petroleum refineries act as a nodal industry ? Give two reasons.

Petroleum refineries act as a "nodal industry Because it provides fuel for heat and lighting, lubricants for machinery and raw materials for a number of manufacturing industries like synthetic textile fertilizer and numerous chemical industries. that's why petroleum called as a nodal industry.

The byproducts of the refineries are used as raw materials for other industries like synthetic textiles ,fertiliser,chemicals etc. thus they are called nodal industry
