why phosphine has lower boiling point than ammonia?​

hey mate here's ur ans ^_^

the neighboring ammonia molecules get closer due to the attraction. We need more energy to separate them than Phosphine. ... So hydrogen bonding in ammonia is much more stronger than phosphine. More the intermolecular force more Will be the boiling point.

Although PH3 is a larger molecule with greater dispersion forces than ammonia,NH3 has very strong and polar N-H bonds leading to strong hydrogen bonding. This dominates the intermolecular force and results in a greater attraction between NH3 than the PH3 molecules.
