Why phosphorous is kept under water ? Why sodium reacts with cold water, whereas iron does not ?

Phosphorus is kept under water other wise it will react with room emprature

Sodium reacts with cold water bcs there is sudden change in the temprature

Iron will also react bcs if they are kept outside with any cover ,a redish brown colored substance will form on the metal which is known as Rusting of Metal
