When 3p3 electrons are released or participate in a bond, Phosphorus has a valency of 3
When 3s2 electrons are also released or participate in a bond, then the valency is 5.
When 3p3 electrons are released or participate in a bond, Phosphorus has a valency of 3

nitrogen also have to valency 3 and 5 but by the octave all the shells have sub cross ponding shells such as spdf. at standard 5 is valence electron and 3 is the valency do not confuse in octave it is in 11th class
