Why photosynthesis take place in dessert plant at night ?

Photosynthesis can only take place in the presence of light. Light is the energy for the process. ... But, since carbon dioxide, which is a basic ingredient of the photosynthesis process, enters the plant through the open stomata, it also has to enter at night...

In dessert region ,when the stomata opens at day for getting carbon-dioxide, the plants lost water because of high temperature. So,plants in dessert areas took carbon-dioxide at night and capture sunlight at day time and perform photosynthesis at night.
