Unlike stars, planets don't twinkle. Stars are so distant that they appear as pinpoints of light in the night sky, even when viewed through a telescope. Because all the light is coming from a single point, its path is highly susceptible to atmospheric interference.

planets are very close to us as compared to the stars their apparent position also changes with the change of density of different layer of the atmosphere . however the size of their apparent image is still fairely large , such that it seldom falls outside the line of sight . hence they do not appeat to twinkle
