Because stars are luminous, and produce own light. Planets don't. They recieve heat and light from sun. Since stars produce own light, they appear to be twinkling in the sky. But if you look closely, a star in the night sky does not shine or twinkle. That is Venus. A planet. Since planets reciveve heat and light from sun, they won't shine.
