Herbivores must move about in order to find plant materials to forage. Animals (including Insects) must move about in search of prey to feed on. Plants on the other hand, get all the nourishment/energy they need from sunlight, air-borne carbon dioxide, and ground sources. It's all provided without need for locomotion.
