When there is no gaseous exchange taking place then plants close stomata so that it will limit the amount of evaporation from their leaves. In simple words, plants close stomata to prevent water loss.

- Evaporation :- The process in which liquid changes into gaseous state is known as evaporation. Its a slow process. It is a physical which means reversible change.
