Plants do photosynthesis as they are autotrophs and prepare their own food with the help of water, sunlight and chlorophyll.

It is a necessary process as animals are also dependent on plants for their survival.

Photosynthesis is very essential to the plants.
To produce food(starch) it does photosynthesis
plants produce food by photosynthesis.
In photosynthesis plant takes simpler compounds like carbondioxide,water,sunlight with the help of chlorophyll and produce complex compounds like starch.
