why plastics are called kitchen of the cell?

It contains the pigment called chlorophyll, which prepares food with the help of photosynthesis. So they are known as kitchen of the cell.

Plastids are the cell Organelles which contains Chloroplast.

Chloroplast are the site of photosynthesis.
They contains chlorophyl which is necessary for photosynthesis and photosynthesis is the process by which plants make their food.


So, plastids are called as kitchen of the cell.

In broader terms, Chloroplast is called as kitchen of cell and leaves are also called so.
