Mitochondria is called as a strange organelle as it has its own DNA and Ribosomes . Plastids too have their own DNA and Ribosomes .

Both mitochondria and plastids are known as strange organelles as they have their own DNA and ribosomes. Thus replicate independent of nucleus and synthesise their own proteins. However, mitochondria is present in all eukaryotic cells while as plastids are present only in plant cells.
