Blood clotting is a biological process of every living being where the platelets present in the blood clots the blood in the area to stop the excessive flow of blood from that cut or wound .

But platelets often fail to clot the blood in case of internal injury,because;

1)blood vessels have a smoother inner surface which prevents blood from clotting inside

2)clotting agents are generally inactive inside the blood vessels

3)heparin also prevents the blood clotting in internal blood vessels
