Answer:

The poet uses an image of a cloud bcz as the cloud floats in the sky in the same way the poet was also walking on the road. As the clouds are free and wander like the nomads so the poet uses this line to express what he was feeling. He was sad bcz of his sister's death . When he suddenly looked to the golden daffodils . The poet wants to make us understand by using the line "I wandered lonely as a cloud" that he had no one with him so that he can feel pleasure. He was freely moving on the road. As the clouds have no idea where they are going or will go in the same way the poet also had the same feeling.

The poem daffodils says about how pensive the mood was of the poet.

The poet compares himself to a cloud in the beginning of the poem because he is wandering about in a state of loneliness and detachment. Just like the clouds are moving overhead unattached to the scene below similarly the poet is walking all alone detached from the scenes of nature that surround him.
